I made a Christmas Card- or SIX!

A friend asked me to make some cards for him so Sunday I created up a storm.  I wasn't able to get pictures of all those cards individually but I did manage to get a shot of all of them together before I delivered them.  I also made a card for someone else to give his boss.  So it was a great day- me, my stamp room and an NCIS Marathon.  :)
First up- the 6 cards. They were all for women so I could make them girly and use ribbon and buttons.  I love ribbons and buttons.  I also made some of them pink.  Because I love pink Christmas cards.

The snowman is from Inkadinkadoo and the Christmas tree images are from Unity.

This card is for a friend's boss. It's for a guy so I tried to make it more masculine.  The paper is Echo Park Very Merry Christmas.  I took the music sheet paper and inked up the edges and distressed them. I forgot how much fun sponging paper was.  The tree image is also from Inkadinkaoo and has been in my stamp collection for several years.  I love it and will probably always keep it.
Well thanks for stopping by- I hope you enjoyed the cards as much as I enjoyed making them!  Have a great  day!

Mixing it Up Sympathy Card

Today's card is made with several old sets from 3 different companies.  Unfortunately, I was in need of a a Sympathy card.  A co-worker's wife passed away and of course no words can bring comfort but hopefully one day he will know he was thought of.
I stamped SU's Weathered on Gina K Kraft card stock (my favorite base CS here lately) in SU Close to Cocoa.  The sentiment is stamped with PTI Enchanted Evening.  I still have quite a few of their Pallette inks. I've heard some stampers have had issues with the inks, but mine are still stamping perfectly.  They are at least 3 years old.  I'm not complaining!  The image is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with Prismacolor Pencils.

Stamps: SU Weathered BG, Thoughts of Father; PTI and Random Unity
Paper: Gina K Kraft; MFP Pensacola Sand
Ink: SU Close to Coca; Memento Rich Cocoa; PTI Enchanted Evening
Accessories: Prismacolor Pencils; Nestabilities
As you can see I did a lot of mixing up of brands to get the card I wanted.  I used to feel I had to use all the same company stamps (or even the same set) on a card - especially when I was on Design Teams. I am enjoying the freedom of using whatever I want out of my supplies.  It's really fun to mix and match.  I hope I have inspired you to mix it up also.

If you are interested in ordering a duplicate or similar card please email me at sherrycampbellstamps@gmail.com.  I am in the process of uploading available cards but if you are looking for something specific, let me know.  I might have it on hand or be able to create it for you.

Thanks for looking!

Happy Birthday Bro!

Hi this is Sherry- Welcome to my new blog!  I felt like it was time for a change since I am basically starting all over again. So I hope you will join me and follow as I rekindle my love for stamping.  You can also see my work on the Stamping With the Oldies blog.  Myself and 4 other amazing stampers are using OLD supplies to make NEW and fresh creations!
Today I am showing you a birthday card I made for my brother.  Sure, his birthday was Wednesday and I haven't mailed it yet, but at least I made it, right?
For this card I pulled out my old buddy Riley.  I have about 4 Riley stamps that I bought while he was part of Hannah Stamps- so yes, they definitely qualify under the Oldie part.  In fact, this is the first time I used my Prismacolor pencils to color Riley.  Crazy, right?  Back when I bought him I was still using just my SU markers.  A lot has changed since then.

To simulate water I cut SU Pacific Point in a wavy pattern (free-handed) and embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder.  I kept it pretty simple- the HB is from the SU set, "It's Your Birthday" (I think?)  And of course I stamped Happy Birthday on the inside.

I hope he likes it even if it is late.  But then again if I sent someone in my family a card on time they might have a heart attack from the shock- and my brother is getting OLD.  (says the baby of the family who is 10 years younger...lol)  :)
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Thursday!  One more day until the weekend- AND VSN!  I hope to break out my older supplies and play along- I hope to see you there!
